The Membrane Biophysics Laboratory studies ion channels in cell membranes and their role in diseases.

Main research directions
Biofizikaning asosiy fundamental muammolari va fiziologik faol moddalarni (gormonlar, yurak glikozidlari, hayvon va o‘simlik toksinlari, pestitsidlar, hasharotlar feromonlari va boshqa membrana faol birikmalar) membranalar funksiyasi regulyatsiyasi va biofizik mexanizmlariga ta’sirini o‘rganish.
Membranalar orqali faol ion transportining biofizik mexanizmlarini o‘rganish. Akad. B.A. Tashmuxamedov rahbarligida va bevosita ishtirokida membranologiyaning amaliy bo‘limi – sun’iy ionoforlar yo‘nalishi tashkil etildi (ionselektiv elektrodlar, eritmalardan ionlarni ajratish).
Fitoxrom va boshqa o‘simliklar fotoretseptorlarida fotoregulyator tizimlari hamda fiziologik jarayonlarni regulyatsiya qilish jarayonlarini o‘rganish. O‘simliklarda fitoxrom faolligiga ta’sir etuvchi mutatsiyalar va tashqi muhitning salbiy oqibatlariga chidamliligi tadqiq etilmoqda.
Hujayralar ion kanallari va model membranalar orqali ion transport mexanizmlarining fundamental muammolari bilan shug‘ullanish.

Hujayra membranalarining ion kanallari orqali ion transporti mexanizmining asosiy muammolari, ion kanallarining tuzilish va funksional munosabatlari va hujayra fiziologiyasi hamda patofiziologiyasining molekular asoslarini o‘rganish.
Elektrofiziologik usullar bilan endogen ion kanallarini va tabiiy hujayralar membranalarida transporterlarni aniqlash.
Hujayra hajmini boshqarish tizimi, biofizik xususiyatlar, molekular tabiat hamda hajmga bog‘liq anion kanallarining hujayra fiziologik jarayonlaridagi rolini tadqiq etish.
Tashqariga yo‘nalgan anion kanallari va yuqori o‘tkazuvchanlikka ega potensialga bog‘liq anion kanallari xususiyatlarini o‘rganish.
